We've put together some ideas that may help you beef up your lid-collecting effort.
Elementary Collection
What better way to introduce kids to the idea of volunteering for a cause? Help them organize a Save Lids to Save LivesĀ® lid collection drive at school. Make a project out of preparing collection bins, tee shirts and pins. They learn to do for others. You watch them grow up a bit. And you'll all have a good time.
That's the Ticket
Organize an office talent show. What about a concert or play starring the kids in your neighborhood? You can charge pink Yoplait lids for admission to just about any event you can come up with.
Lids as Currency
Organize an auction, a bake sale or an art show and charge pink Yoplait lids instead of cash.
Pot Luck with a Purpose
Throw a pot-luck brunch and ask your guests to bring lids instead of a hostess gift. To boost the lid count, send each guest a yogurt-based recipe along with the invite. That'll both guarantee you get more lids and ensure you don't end up with six bowls of macaroni salad!

Lid-Collecting Contest
Offer a prize to the person who brings in the most lids by the end of a predetermined period. Give a reward that costs nothing, but reflects the spirit of support: a night of babysitting, an errand run, etc. You could also offer a homemade prize, such as a t-shirt made using our kit.
Delicious Rewards
Keep a dish of candy on your desk or bake cookies or brownies. Invite everyone who drops off a lid to help themselves to the treats!
Odd-Job Service
Enlist local teens and older kids to perform odd jobs for people who bring you a pre-set number of lids. You could offer services such as raking leaves (20 lids), watering lawns or plants (10 lids), dog washing (15 lids) or lawn mowing (25 lids).
Lids for lessons
Do you have a talent or skill? Offer a computer lesson, piano lesson or language lesson for the price of a few lids per student.
Send a Message
Tell people you are collecting lids every time you send an e-mail. Just change your e-mail signature file to include a plug for your lid-collecting effort.
Cooking for a Cure
Put together some recipes that call for Yoplait as an ingredient and distribute them to your friends and coworkers via e-mail or flyers. Ask them to bring you their lids after they make the recipe.
Think Pink
Organize a "wear pink day" at work or a social event to get the message out. Wear a pink ribbon as a conversation starter wherever you go. And be sure to tell everyone you talk to that you're collecting pink Yoplait lids.
